Winter is coming soon...

First snowfall of the year earlier this week.  Winter is coming :)  We're also just over three months away until skiing in Hokkaido :)

Flight Memory / EXP

As a consultant working for Accenture, I've had my fair share of travel, though all work-related travel has been domestic.  I've been mostly lucky with my project assignments, having traveled to the following locations:

  • Pasadena, CA
  • Austin, TX
  • Marina Del Rey, CA
  • San Diego, CA
  • North Hollywood, CA
  • Chicago, IL
  • Seattle, WA
  • Minneapolis, MN
Notice a trend?  Up until my current assignment in Minneapolis I've been fortunate enough to be able to stick with one airline, American Airlines in this case.  As a reward for my "loyalty", they've awarded me with Executive Platinum (EXP) status since late 2006 which has yielded a number of first class upgrades, great standby position for taking earlier flights, upgrades for friends and family, and access to the Flagship Lounge.  I've earned EXP status by flying over 100,000 miles or over 100 segments in a calendar year.  Unfortunately, starting in March 2012 I will drop down to lowly Platinum status on American Airlines.  EXP - you will be missed.

I started to track a number of my flights using FlightMemory, but there is a limit of it's usefulness in that you have to enter everything manually, so after a few weeks of recording my weekly ORD-LAX flights back in 2007 I decided to only include new unique routes.  What results is an interesting spider web of domestic routes:

Best Dog Park in the Twin Cities

Work has brought me to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul recently.  I was fortunate enough to obtain a corporate apartment that is dog-friendly so I can bring our Husky-Shepherd mix with me.  We stayed in Minneapolis one weekend and found a great dog park in Battle Creek Regional Park.  There is a little bit of everything, open spaces, ponds to swim in, woods to play in, and even some nice scenery.

Excited dog!

Well-behaved ... for now

Can't wait to see what the park is going to be like when covered in snow!
